Branch Events

Our guest speaker is Brian Gaynor, Executive Director of Milford Asset Management.

Not many people are described as an investment legend – yet this is how the Managing Editor of The Spin Off recently referred to Brian Gaynor.

Brian's credentials include:

  • a decade running one of the country’s best-performing investment funds
  • two decades of writing one of the country’s best read business columns
  • having a reputation for ruffling a few feathers in his time
  • and formidable ability for thorough analysis and commentary… which contemporaries and competitors are on record for saying, ‘is exactly what has made NZ business better under his watch’.

Brian’s career includes roles as a Partner and Head of Research at stockbrokers Jarden & Co, and a member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange. He has also been a board member of a number of listed and public owned entities, including the Guardians of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund. He is also one of the original founders of Milford Asset Management and was Portfolio Manager of the Milford Active Growth Funds (Unit Trust and KiwiSaver) from their establishment in 2007 until April 2017.

Brian will be speaking on investing in uncertain times – looking for value and assessing threats and opportunities (both internal and external) that companies face in volatile economic times.

As usual there is no cost for this meeting and light refreshments will be served.
