Guest speaker - Mark Malpass, Steel & Tube

Our guest speaker for August is Mark Malpass, CEO of Steel & Tube. Steel & Tube is a proud New Zealand company and a leading provider of steel solutions, from nuts and bolts through to roofing, reinforcing and floor decking. They help to build strength and resilience in some of the most important infrastructure and construction developments nationally, and across many sectors of the NZ economy. Hear from Mark how the company is working to rebuilding its reputation and to deliver its business promise ('Stronger in everyway') to its customers and shareholders.   

Branch Meetings

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of most months from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. 
Meetings are held at the Khandallah Town Hall at 11 Ganges Rd, Khandallah.  This is very close to the Box Hill railway station (on the Johnsonville line) and there are regular buses to the Khandallah village (no's 24 and 25).  Easy and accessible parking is available on the street at the venue.  For more information email

Mark Malpass - CEO, Steel & Tube

Our guest speaker for August is Mark Malpass, the CEO of Steel & Tube. With a strong pedigree in NZ and oversea industry Mark's background includes over 19 years with ExxonMobil Corporation, three years as CEO - Infrastruction Products Division, Fletcher Building, in 2016-17 he was Group Executive - Strategy & Corporate Development at Fulton Hogan and experience as an independent director. Mark will outline the challenges he has been getting on top of since starting as CEO at Steel & Tube in Sept 2017 and his plans for the company in a post-Covid environment.

Graham Shaw - Chairman, Pushpay
Our guest speaker for September is the chairman of Pushpay Holdings. This New Zealand company provides a donor management system, including donor tools, finance tools and a custom community app, to religious organisations and other non-profit organisations, and to education providers in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Their services aim to simplify engagement, payments and administration.  Hear how Pushpay has grown its revenues from a US$10 million to over US$100 million in less than three years. 

Graham was appointed as an Independent Director of Pushpay on 22 January 2015 and on 8 May 2019 was appointed Independent Chairman of the Board. He is a chartered accountant with over 35 years’ experience in business. He sits on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, and has extensive SaaS governance experience including board representation at Xero for eight years and more recently at Gentrack. He spent 10 years with KPMG working primarily as an advisor to businesses. He then joined Works Infrastructure where he held a number of finance roles before being appointed Chief Executive Officer, leading the company to substantial growth and successful expansion into Australia. Graham has also been Chief Executive Officer of Kensington Swan, one of New Zealand’s national law firms.

Share Game 2021... plus Tony Mitchell - Chair, NZSA... plus Wellington Branch AGM

Our speakers for October:
   - Last year Share Game participant, Mark Ireland, and
   - The national chair of NZSA, 
Tony Mitchell.

Mark has the distinction of coming last in the Share Game last year.  He will outline his strategy, how it differed to the winner, Clive Bull's strategy and what he learnt about investing from his participation in the game. Mark will also report back on what the new, improved share game looks like...and how he expects to beat Clive this time round.

Tony will be update you on the work underway by the Association
.  This will also be an opportunity to reflect on the discussion topics from the Annual Conference held two weeks earlier.  

A brief Wellington Branch AGM will follow Tony's presentation.
